The Distribution Manager will be responsible for the management of their warehousing, logistics and distribution. It is a full time permanent role. This role will suit a candidate who is looking for a leadership role in a company that they can develop their career with.
Responsibilities of the Distribution Manager:
1. Managing and developing a culture of continuous improvement within the Transport and Warehouse function, ensuring engagement of staff to deliver a “best in class” performance in all aspects of day-to-day duties.
2. Collaborating closely with all functions in Customer Supply department to ensure orders are delivered to customer standards and expectations.
3. Managing the performance of direct and indirect reportees in a systematic, objective and professional manner.
4. Demonstrating strong leadership skills by providing work direction, guidance to direct reportees in performance management and staff development, training initiatives, and business process improvements.
5. Continually assess the distribution team staffing and skills requirements, developing plans to address gaps and needs.
6. Developing ongoing site departmental plans to deliver the business objectives in terms of customer service targets, controlling costs and H&S requirements.
7. Progressing an innovative approach to continuous improvement, delivering efficiencies in our day to day operations. Ensuring relevant business Improvement principles are understood, embraced and implemented.
8. Budget Management.
9. Managing cost reconciliation of relevant billing processes including haulier self billing & 3PL storage costing.
10. Liaison with production on feedback from customers, 3PL facilities on accuracy, quality of manufactured pallets.
Requirements for the Distribution Manager:
11. Must have 3+ years experience in a similar role
12. Must have strong people management experience
13. Ideally this person would have experience working in a fast paced environment and have experience with 3PL providers
14. Must have good systems experience ideally using an ERP. SAP
15. Must be an excellent communicator and team player
