Job Description
Our client is seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator to join their expanding manufacturing organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
2. Conducting regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify and assess potential hazards in the workplace.
3. Developing and delivering safety training programs for all employees, including new hires and contractors, to ensure that they are aware of potential hazards and know how to work safely.
4. Investigating and reporting any accidents, incidents, or near-misses to determine the root cause and identify preventive measures.
5. Maintaining accurate records of safety incidents, safety training, and safety inspections, and generating reports as needed.
6. Collaborating with managers, supervisors, and employees to identify safety issues and develop strategies to address them.
7. Conducting safety drills and emergency preparedness exercises to ensure that employees know how to respond in case of an emergency.
8. Coordinating the implementation of safety improvements and ensuring that safety standards are being met.
9. Keeping up-to-date with changes to safety regulations and industry best practices and providing guidance to management on how to comply with these changes.
10. Overseeing the proper use and maintenance of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements:
11. A minimum of a level 6 in Health and Safety is essential.
12. 3 years + experience in EHS ideally in a manufacturing setting.
13. Knowledge of food safety with in a manufacturing setting is benefical.
