We’re assisting an award-winning Main Contractor in their search for a Senior EHS Advisor in Meath. The successful candidate will be based on-site in Meath, with further site visits required in the Greater Dublin area.
Responsibilities:
6. Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive health and safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with Irish regulations and industry standards.
7. Provide expert guidance and leadership on health and safety matters to project teams, subcontractors, and site personnel.
8. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and areas for improvement, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols.
9. Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning to prevent recurrence and improve safety performance.
10. Collaborate with project managers to integrate health and safety requirements into project planning, execution, and scheduling.
11. Prepare and present health and safety reports to senior management, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders, highlighting key metrics, trends, and initiatives.
12. Act as the primary point of contact for health and safety inquiries, providing timely and effective guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders.
13. Mentor and coach junior health and safety personnel, fostering their professional development and growth within the organization.
Requirements:
14. Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
15. Professional certification in health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH Managing Safely) is essential.
16. Significant experience in a senior health and safety role within the construction industry, preferably with main contractors in Ireland.
17. Thorough understanding of Irish health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
18. Proven leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to influence and engage others in health and safety initiatives.
19. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
20. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
21. Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
22. Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and health and safety management software.
23. Commitment to promoting a positive safety culture and driving continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
