The Role: The Continuous Improvement Engineer will focus on optimizing operational efficiency and enhancing the performance of the engineering team. The role involves implementing continuous improvement processes, driving quality assurance initiatives, and ensuring adherence to industry standards. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering, experience in project management, and a proven ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external teams. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities across different locations are essential. Responsibilities: Continuous Improvement & Development: Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement to enhance operational efficiency and productivity. Lead projects aimed at improving engineering processes, reducing costs, and increasing quality and safety standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities and establish best practices. Quality Assurance: Establish and manage a structured quality assurance process to maintain high standards across all engineering activities. Conduct site audits to monitor work quality, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards. Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for lifting equipment requirements, providing guidance and support to the engineering team. Training & Development: Support the development and implementation of training programs for engineering staff to enhance skills and competencies. Develop individual development plans and maintain a training matrix to track progress and certification requirements. Ensure engineers are equipped to resolve technical issues independently through effective training and resources. Operational Support: Provide hands-on support to engineers on-site when necessary and cover roles as required. Gather feedback from engineers and customers, relaying insights to the management team for further improvement. Work both on-site and off-site, representing the company professionally and upholding its values. Management & Reporting: Report regularly to senior management on quality metrics, improvement initiatives, and team performance. Track and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with business goals, both financial and operational. The Person: Strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering. Proven experience in project management and continuous improvement methodologies. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders. A trade certification, Level 6 qualification, or an engineering degree is preferred. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and responsibilities across various locations.
