Packaging and Polymer Engineer
Cpl are working with one of our client partners to help them source an accomplished Polymer or Packaging Engineer for their Facility in Dublin 24.
The role also offers a degree of Flexible working but will require 3 Anchor Days onsite in the plant in Dublin.
The company themselves are a Global leader in the manufacturing of industrial and commercial adhesives with a total workforce more than 55,00 staff.
1. Established in Ireland in, this newly created position will be Supporting the Global Head of Packaging and Development, and it’s the first time for them to recruit a Polymer / Packaging Engineer role focussed solely on “Sustainable Packaging Developments” in their Irish Facility.
2. Your primary role will be to work as part of a global team focused on the transition to fully sustainable packaging from Non-Sustainable Hard and Flexible Plastic across their range of “Industrial and commercial grade Adhesive products”.
Some of your core duties will include -
3. Upon familiarising yourself with the technical chemistries and complexities of the company and their product portfolio, you will be a key member of a new “Global Change team”.
4. Supporting the development, implementation, and communication of the packaging sustainability strategy both in the Irish operations but also as part of a Global Change team
5. Working with NPD and Procurement teams to identify opportunities to develop and source new packaging materials and technologies for potential use by the company.
6. You will support Laboratory testing for packaging and technology related projects with internal and external partners.
7. Maintenance of records and reports of all work programs and presentation of results to stakeholders when required.
8. Where required, participation in internal and external working groups both EU and Globally on sustainable packaging initiative across the business.
9. Working in close collaboration with all internal stakeholders to achieve sustainability goals.
10. Acquiring and maintaining a working knowledge of packaging legislation and policy requirements.
11. Acting in compliance with both the legal requirement and the Henkel and Adhesives requirements resulting from the SHEQ policies, standards and procedures and code of conduct for the functions performed.
Ideal candidate qualifications and experience -
12. Degree or equivalent in Packaging, Mechanical or Polymer Engineering.
13. 3+ year experience in a packaging science & technology related role and/or experience in packaging sustainability an advantage.
14. Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes for packaging.
15. Open minded and motivated individual with desire to learn.
16. Strong IT skills; familiarity with Microsoft Packages.
