My client, a Galway based Medical Device organisation, are looking to seeking to hire an Environmental, Health & Safety Officer. This role will suit someone with experience in an EHS function, within a manufacturing environment. This is a permanent role based on-site in Galway City. Responsibilities Ensure adherence to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and company policies. Conduct regular risk assessments, site inspections, and audits to identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures. Develop and deliver comprehensive HSE training programs for employees and contractors & conduct site inductions. Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses. Implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. Develop and maintain emergency response plans. Conduct drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency procedures. Monitor and manage environmental aspects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Implement strategies for sustainable practices. Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE documentation, including risk assessments, incident reports, and training records. Effectively communicate HSE policies and procedures to all levels of the organization. Foster a safety-conscious culture. Stay informed about changes in HSE legislation and regulations. Ensure the company's practices align with current standards. Requirements Hold a bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Accumulate a minimum of 2/3 years of HSE experience. In-depth knowledge of Irish health, safety, and environmental legislation showcasing a proven track record in developing and implementing HSE programs, policies, and procedures.
