Job Objectives
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Regional Nurse to join our dynamic team at Nua Healthcare. The role of Nursing within Nua Healthcare Services is to support individuals with Asperger’s Syndrome/Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Brain Injury and Mental Health issues. This challenging role requires particular flexibility to appropriately support people in the pursuit of their lifestyle choices.
This will include the following on a day-to-day basis:
1. Live our Mission, Vision and Values.
2. Safe Administration and Management of Medication.
3. Utilising nursing skills to support the delivery of effective frontline support to all Individuals.
4. Support the development and implementation of Health Assessments, Medication plans and all supporting documents which outline the supports required for individuals, including; personal plans, epilepsy plans, diabetic plans etc.
5. Ensure that all Health Action Plans are delivered appropriately to all Individuals.
6. Promote good relationships with primary health care services in each individual’s community.
7. Communicate and liaise with the multidisciplinary team.
8. Identify supports and work in partnership with the individual, their family and other supports as outlined within individual Personal Plans.
9. Support Individuals with health appointments and follow through on recommendations.
10. Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to Individuals.
11. Promote & nurture person centred planning using key worker systems and shared goal setting, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
12. Support and promote maximum opportunities for community involvement for people who avail of the service.
13. Deliver training as advised by management.
14. Assist the Person In Charge / Operations Manager in regard to compiling and presenting reports as required.
Skills Requirement
Qualification:
15. Be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
16. Possess a recognised professional post-graduate relevant qualification.
17. If qualified outside the Republic of Ireland, their qualification is validated by the Department of Health or may be working towards meeting compensatory criteria set up by the department.
Knowledge:
18. Knowledge of standards and legislation relevant to the area.
19. Have up-to-date knowledge of HIQA regulations.
Experience:
20. Experience of report writing, personal support plans.
21. Experience of working in a similar role.
Skills:
22. Flexible and adaptable nature.
23. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
24. An understanding of the needs of individuals.
25. Ability to work under pressure.
26. Ability to work on own initiative.
27. Experience of relating to people in a supportive role.
