The Berlin Police, Central Service Directorate, Dir ZS IKT C, is looking for the next possible date, permanent, a Head of the Coordination Office organizational unit Project and cross-cutting issues (Dir ZS IKT C KoSt) Reference number: 1-056/24 Title: Senior Government Councillor or comparable tariff employee Grade/remuneration group: A 14/EG 14 Available for appointment: soon Full-time with 40 or 39.4 hours per week (part-time employment may be possible) Place of employment: Platz der Luftbrücke 6, 12101 Berlin The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) department is the central service provider for the Berlin Police and is responsible for the operation of authority-wide infrastructures and systems.
This includes the Berlin case processing system POLIKS, which was introduced in the federal-state project program P20 under the name PLX.
The coordination office is responsible for and consolidates cross-cutting topics from various organizational units and is the central point of contact for internal and external ICT communication on topics from the P20 programme.
It also acts as a coordinating, controlling and supporting organizational unit for the groups of the Dir ZS IKT C department.
Project management and support tasks are performed in the large-scale IT project iVBS PLX.
For the management of this important service area, we are looking for a responsible person with strong leadership skills and an understanding of IT who will share their skills and qualifications with us and apply them to demanding challenges.

These are some of the tasks that await you: You will coordinate and manage large-scale IT projects, in particular in relation to the POLIKS/PLX case processing system and the federal-state project Program P20.
In this context, you will take on committee activities, including the associated reporting and documentation.
You will develop strategies for process implementation, coordinate target-oriented solution alternatives and the selection of methods and take over resource and time planning.
You advise the IT departments and the management level and develop decision papers.
You organize and carry out various event formats - based on nationwide developments.
The implementation of technical analyses and the creation of technical concepts, also on cross-cutting topics, are also part of the area of responsibility.
You will be responsible for systemic networking with all organizational units involved, in particular with stakeholders from other federal and state authorities and external service providers in various formats.
You will also take on management responsibility for your team, e.g.
by creating binding guidelines that are comprehensible to the members of your department as well as evaluating and optimizing work organization, individual skills development and efficient organization of training and development measures, structured production of relevant work group descriptions, requirement profiles and assessments, the creation of general personnel development concepts and committed participation in organizational measures, the management of or participation in personnel selection procedures.
Willingness to undertake business trips lasting several days is mandatory.
On-call duty and the arrangement of special working hours are possible.

You have ... the civil service and career requirements for the second entry-level post in career group 2 of the general administrative service (LVO-AVD) or a completed academic degree (Master's/Diploma) in law, administration, political science or economics or a comparable field of study.
A university degree is deemed to have been completed if the course was completed with a Diplom Univ.
or Master's degree or Magister examination.
Experience in project management; this is highly desirable.
