Finance Business Partner - Accountant, Dublin
Location/Office Policy: AIB Group, Molesworth Street, Dublin 2
Hybrid working, which will include a blend of onsite (Dublin) and remote working.
AIB Finance are looking for a talented and ambitious Accountant to join our Finance Business Partner team supporting the Retail Banking business.

As future focused finance business partners, our objective is to support the business in the development and delivery of AIB’s strategic and financial objectives. We aim to provide ‘real time’ support and analysis and to be trusted advisers, assisting the business in decision making. Critical to our success is an ability to understand the business and to apply a mix of analytical, commercial and communication skills to deliver information and insights to key stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
A vacancy now exists for the role of an Accountant in Finance Business Partners Retail. This is an important role in delivering proactive financial management and support to the business ensuring robust financial analysis, ongoing financial performance assessment and planning & forecasting.
Key accountabilities:
1. Support in the production of the 3-year Financial Plan & Forecasts ensuring adherence with finance planning guidelines and alignment to integrated business, financial, credit and risk planning processes.
2. Provide insightful financial performance reporting to Retail Banking, outlining the key drivers of financial performance & variances to Plan/Forecast and supporting corrective action as required.
3. Provide relevant insights to support product pricing decisions in terms of impact on balance sheet, income and return on capital.
4. Support the Head of Business Partners Retail in driving the commercial agenda from a finance perspective.
5. Support in the production of cost/workforce plans to manage costs.
6. Support further development of financial MI including the bank’s planning system (OnePlan), MyFinance, RAROC, ROTE, Customer Profitability analysis and monthly segment and business unit performance reports.
7. Build strong working relationships with the Retail business, within Finance and with other support areas, characterised by high levels of collaboration and co-operation.
8. Ensure adherence to relevant financial policies and procedures.
9. Work with peers and colleagues across all levels, identifying and developing relationships within AIB.
What you Will Bring:
1. A Qualified Accountant with minimum of 3 years banking experience ideally in a finance, product, portfolio management or similar role.
2. Strong relationship builder and capable of managing a range of stakeholders on a cross functional basis.
3. Proven business understanding and highly developed commercial acumen.
4. Ability to analyse and interpret data, to assess its value and to present the findings to the relevant stakeholders concisely.
5. Be motivated, enthusiastic and forward looking; a positive can-do approach is a necessity.
