General Summary: We are looking for an experienced Developer Relations engineer with a background in leveraging platform SDKs and industry-standard development practices to validate and deliver a comprehensive developer experience for internal and third party developers.
These developers will be developing diverse AI applications using the Snapdragon AI APIs & optimized libraries to interface to other subsystem interfaces such as the camera, audio, display, graphics, memory, security, and operating system components available on Snapdragon.
As a senior member of the team responsible for the developer experience on "Edge AI" platforms like Snapdragon & Dragonwing, you will have the opportunity to develop end-to-end sample applications.
These applications will include clear use of interfaces and templates which will allow developers to plug in their proprietary models to first test their model on Qualcomm hardware platforms (such as RB3 Gen 2) and then access valuable performance metrics which will further be used to optimize the model.
You will also work with internal developers and customer engineering teams to bring feedback, requirements, and feature enhancements from the developer ecosystem on use of Snapdragon & Dragonwing AI and Platform APIs as needed.
Through this experience, you will be well positioned to drive improvements into the SW stack including SDK, Tools, and documentation.
This role will require you to work closely with development leads, software and hardware architects, project engineers, product managers, customer engineers, OEMs, OS partners, and application developers.
The ideal candidate has experience in building end to end applications for one or more of Computer Vision, Audio, LVM, LLM use cases using AI/ML tools/workflow on Linux/Windows for CPU, GPU and AI accelerators.
Responsibilities:
Cross-functional collaboration across software, hardware engineering, developer marketing and product management teams.Understand trends in ML model usage, and workflow through application developer engagements and latest academic research.Develop and ensure sample application comprehensiveness for "Edge AI" on Snapdragon & Dragonwing platforms, to cover the gamut of models used, and use-cases including use of additional optimized libraries outside of AI functions.Interface with 3rd party application developers and other cross-site and cross-functional teams to arrive at easy-to-use sample application, and documentation that are directly leveraged by 3rd party app developers using Snapdragon and Dragonwing platforms.Contribute new features and designs to the Qualcomm AI toolkit to enhance the workflow experience of Application Developers.Preferred Qualifications: 4+ years' experience in application development spanning multiple target platforms (embedded, desktop).Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++.Experience with development of end-to-end applications on Windows and IoT devices.Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical and technical stakeholders.Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.Familiarity with software development methodologies, version control systems, and agile project management practices.Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and tools like TensorFlow or PyTorch, GPU programming, and parallel computing.
Experience with developing/deploying large language models/foundational models a plus.Awareness of AI software stack and familiarity with AI performance tuning techniques on GPU, NPU based systems.Familiarity with computer vision, audio processing, and natural language processing (NLP) techniques.
