Role Title: Project Manager
Role Description & Responsibilities:
You will report directly to a Contracts Manager and be responsible for overseeing a full project team and associated subcontractors in the safe, timely execution of the works in accordance with the project budgetary, programme and quality requirements.
General:
1. Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of subcontractors.
Health and Safety:
1. Ensure that the works are delivered in the safest manner possible, with the support of the Site Manager, EHS Advisor and Contracts Manager, in accordance with all legislative requirements.
2. Ensure contractors on site execute works as per their approved method statement & risk assessment.
3. Giving daily site briefings to the workforce prior to starting work to ensure interface risks between subcontractors are safely managed.
4. Ensure the highest standards of housekeeping are maintained.
5. Reporting of all safety incidents and/or accidents to the Safety Advisor & Company Directors in strict accordance.
6. Prepare method statements and risk assessments for construction activities as required.
7. Help the company achieve our goal of Zero Harm on all our worksites to all our workers and third parties we interface with.
Technical/Quality:
1. Supervision of site engineering resource in the timely execution of setting out and surveying activities for various building.
2. Ensuring that the project is delivered snag free to the satisfaction of the Client.
3. Coordinate and liaise with Contracts Manager, Site Engineers and Services Coordinator to ensure that all subcontractors and site personnel have timely and accurate information.
4. Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise from revised details issued or from situations as they arise on site.
5. Ensuring that all materials used, and work performed are as per specification and drawing requirements.
6. Ensuring that all subcontractors execute their works as per their approved Inspection and Testing Plans and sign off inspection records as required.
7. Ensuring the RFI process is managed on site and the associated register kept up to date.
8. Ensuring the submittals process is managed on site and the associated register kept up to date.
Management:
1. Act as a first point of contact on site for day-to-day Client and designer liaison.
2. Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project to ensure timely successful completion.
3. Manage requisition process for all materials and plant on site.
4. Being familiar with the contract documents supplied by the Client/architect.
5. Monitor progress against the Contract Programme and escalate any delays or risk of delay to the Contracts Manager.
6. Assist in the production and revision of the contract and sub-programmes with the Contracts Manager & Planner.
7. Ensure plant, labour and materials records are issued to Head Office on a weekly basis.
8. Ensure company owned plant and equipment is maintained in good working order.
9. Act in a courteous and professional manner at all times while protecting the position of the business.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Relevant Qualification ideally in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline or an equivalent technical degree is preferred.
2. A minimum of 7 years of experience in Construction Management including previous project management experience.
3. Previous experience or working with public works / RIAI etc., forms of contracts.
4. Self-motivated with strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
5. Ability to read, understand and create contractual requirements, scope objectives and report effectively.
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
7. Excellent leadership skills and be able to demonstrate mentoring experience of junior teams.
8. Be able to demonstrate understanding of BIM and Digital Construction Technologies.
9. Highly proficient IT skills and be able to demonstrate innovation skills.
10. Excellent organisation and time management skills with ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
11. Ability to build strong relationships with clients, staff and sub-contractors.
12. Ability to influence others with the ability to work well in a team-based environment.
