We have a fantastic new vacancy for a Mechanical Engineer at Exergyn Ltd.
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with some Electrical and Control Engineering Experience to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the design, development, and integration of mechanical and electrical/control systems. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, coupled with a working knowledge of electrical/control components and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and test mechanical systems with integrated electrical/control components.
* Collaborate with electrical engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical/control systems.
* Conduct simulations and analysis (FEA, thermal, stress, etc.) to validate designs.
* Develop and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, assembly drawings, and specifications.
* Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical/control system issues which may arise.
* Evaluate materials and components to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
* Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, with exposure to electrical/control systems.
* Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) for 3D modelling and technical drawings.
* Familiarity with PCB design principles, embedded systems, and electromechanical integration, cabinet design & build, electrical safety.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, injection moulding, and sheet metal fabrication.
* Experience with thermal management, vibration analysis, and EMI shielding is a plus.
* Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, C, or MATLAB) for automation or testing is desirable.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to document work clearly.
