JOB DESCRIPTION
The EMEA Fintech Payments Team is a strategic sales and relationship management group responsible for owning & managing relationships with Fintech companies in the region. The team works to effectively deliver J.P. Morgan’s Payments Products, including treasury services, merchant services, liquidity, working capital & trade, commercial card, and Foreign Exchange (FX).
The team is part of the EMEA Non-Bank Financial Institution (NBFI) coverage team, specializing in the Fintech segment. The client base is changing significantly, as is the global landscape for payments. New business models require a world-class global banking partner to support their growth and international expansion, while traditional companies must evaluate their approach to customers and payments.
Job Summary
As a Fintech Payments Sales Manager within the EMEA Fintech Payments Team, you will report to the Head of Fintech Payments Sales in the region. Your role will involve being a Sales Executive for new & existing clients to maintain and grow the team’s portfolio in line with the business plans, through selling treasury products to our target headquartered clients. You will need to liaise and partner across J.P. Morgan to optimize product and service delivery while developing, maintaining, and enhancing relationships with clients.
Job Responsibilities
1. Achieve new business goals, including the annual sales plan at target margins by identifying prospects and developing approach/calling plans with prospective clients.
2. Build a pipeline of potential new business wins, documenting status and assumptions throughout the sales process.
3. Maximize profitability with clients through appropriate pricing of new business wins, product extensions, and cross-selling other JPM products.
4. Partner with Payments Executives to drive the execution of the sales strategy, achieve new business sales objectives, maintain current revenue streams, expand market share, and increase the share of wallet with target clients.
5. Conduct financial and market analysis to support proposals for new business and assist the team through ad hoc project work and analysis.
6. Manage client onboarding processes, including Compliance deep dives when client industry requires, and manage Know Your Client (KYC) / Anti Money Laundering (AML) responsibilities, including KYC renewals and management of the compliance inquiry process with clients.
7. Prepare client account plans, senior officer briefing memos, and portfolio management reporting.
8. Implement and support ongoing client strategy and coordinate cross-sell opportunities with other parts of the Bank.
9. Raise and escalate business issues such as risk, legal, and compliance, and manage resolution.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
1. Demonstrated experience in a Financial Services Sales role focused on providing payments services.
2. Ability to develop and deepen senior client relationships.
3. Organized and disciplined, capable of handling multiple priorities and acting on initiative.
4. Robust leadership, presentation, and communication skills.
5. Ability to manage risk dynamics and support the team in managing risks while working with internal partners and clients to implement a balanced risk/reward relationship.
6. Ability to work across cultures with internal teams and external clients.
7. Ambitious, with a "can-do" attitude focused on delivery and execution.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
