The Birr Scientific & Heritage Foundation is recruiting for an experienced Marketing Executive, to join their small but growing team at the Birr Castle Demesne.
Reporting to the Visitor Experience & Operations Manager to achieve the marketing and sales goals as set out by the Birr Scientific & Heritage Foundation board.
The aim is on increasing its market presence and visitor numbers and thus maintaining its position as a unique tourist attraction in Co Offaly and the Hidden Heartlands.
Location – Onsite Birr Castle Demesne, Birr, Co Offaly.

Contract Type – Permanent Part Time – 24 hours per week
Job Description With assistance, create and develop the digital marketing strategy for Birr Castle Demesne, including planning and implementing marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
Social Media Management - manage all social media advertising and social content calendar, which involves generating and scheduling interesting, relevant, and on-brand content.
Responsible for delivery of photo and video assets and ensuring the content bank is up to date.
Analytical Reporting - provide detailed reporting and presentations using various analytical tools to track campaign performance and effectiveness of all digital marketing activity, including recommendations for improvement.
Email Marketing - design and optimise email marketing campaigns to members and segmented audiences as agreed.
Search Engine Marketing & Search Engine Optimisation - manage and oversee relevant and targeted campaigns, including keyword research, optimisation and implementation.
Reputation Management – Inform senior management of online reputation of Birr Castle Demesne via review websites and agree management of same.
Customer Relationship Management – daily management of all aspects of CRM system including contact management, audience list segmentation, email marketing, automations and reporting.
Copywriting – Create engaging and relevant copywriting for multiple digital channels, campaigns and promotions.
Website management, to include systematic updating on WordPress to ensure that all information is current and proof-read.
PR digital support to help including familiarity trips and facilitating special groups.
Collaborate with tourism partners and educational partners to create engaging content.
Assist with event planning, coordination and implementation (and support/deliver Ad-Hoc projects as required).
Attend Failte Ireland digital marketing workshops on behalf of Birr Castle Demesne and collaborate with tourism partners on marketing / digital developments.
Working with internal team on digital plans that promote and highlight the seasonal activities that drive sales across the departments e.g.
café, retail, calendar events.
Requirements Third level qualification in Digital Marketing.
Minimum of 2-3 Years experience in a similar role.
Excellent knowledge and experience of all social media platforms and best practices.
Strong Experience in data analytics and content creating tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
Knowledge and practical experience in managing SEO/SEM.
Experience in marketing databases, email marketing and Google analytics.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Full driving licence is required.
Preferable Experience Previous experience in photography and videography including shooting and editing video content (including reels) for social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
Previous experience working in a tourism or related organization is preferred, but not essential.
Track and evaluation of content performance using tools such as Google Analytics and LinkedIn Adverts.
SEO and keyword generation.
