Commercial Director Role
To capitalise on this growth opportunity, we are seeking an experienced Commercial Director who is Design led in their thinking and can identify disruptive and innovative solutions for the deployment of digital services that engage users.
You will be accountable for the commercial performance and growth of Version 1's Design service line, collaborating with colleagues in commercial, account management and delivery teams to identify and drive design led, digital transformational outcomes for our clients.
As Commercial Director for Business and Digital Transformation, you will play a critical role in providing strategic thinking to put digital design at the forefront and create user experiences which deliver real results for our customers; and to develop and drive a comprehensive programme of activities to identify, tailor and progress growth opportunities.
This will include creating proactive, compelling, and tailored propositions to drive new business opportunities and ensure Version 1 achieves its commercial growth objectives.
Responsibilities:
* You will be responsible for delivering commercial KPI's (Revenue, Contract Closings, Opportunity Pipeline) related to Version 1's Business and Digital Transformation service line to return year on year growth.
* You will play a key role in high-value opportunities (6/7 figure contracts) developed through our Commercial teams and through strategic partnerships with world-class vendors and specialist partners.
* You will provide expert advice and guidance on complex design and digital transformation deals, ensuring successful collaboration with all parties to achieve commercial goals.
* You will work closely with the Service Line lead to support the creation of proactive, compelling tailored propositions for our clients, engaging and articulating case studies and customer stories to convey a true value proposition around digital and business transformation through design led thinking.
* You will lead the full sales lifecycle, from selecting the right solution for customers, competitive pricing and engaging on the delivery of world-class customer proposals, bids, and presentations.
* You will collaborate with account teams to develop a customized design and digital transformation roadmap and plan for Version 1 Strategic and Enterprise accounts.
* You will build cross-departmental relationships and maintain relationships with external partners, collaborating with the Office of the CTO (OCTO) to provide sales teams with regular enablement and training on Version 1's evolving digital transformation portfolio and associated benefits.
* You will report sales data related to the Digital and Business Consulting service line, driving and presenting consistently accurate forecast sales data and associated reporting.
Requirements
* Experience of Sales, Marketing, and proposition development working in Public Sector Digital/Business/Process Transformation that has a strong leading to design led principles.
* Experience in providing high-quality Digital, Technology, Analysis, and Business change services to similar organisations, demonstrating evidence of design thinking principles and methodologies for creating user-centric solutions.
* Practical experience selling Digital consultancy services (7+ figure contracts) such as user-centred design, service design, product management, business, and technical analysis, performance management, data analytics, change management, digital strategy development or similar.
* Demonstrable experience of delivering tailored presentations, demonstrations, and proposals that highlight the value of design and digital transformation solutions.
* As a client-facing commercial leader, you will have experience working closely with Sales Directors and sales teams to execute a multi-year growth strategy, engaging on key clients and new logos, driving key deals through to contracting, and supporting delivery practices in ongoing customer engagement.
* Demonstrable experience of working with account teams to understand specific customer challenges and aligning our digital transformation offerings with their business goals.
* Experience of working with Government procurement frameworks such as G-Cloud, DOS, and having a full understanding of the methods and lifecycles related to government procurement.
* Demonstrable experience participating in or contributing to thought leadership activities such as whitepapers, blogs, or events, able to speak the right language and use the right examples to unlock client thinking and develop transformational opportunities.
* You will understand the importance of creating a transformational culture and providing teams that seamlessly integrate with client teams to provide a suitable environment for compelling and lasting change.
* You will showcase your communication and interpersonal skills and your ability to engage with all levels of an organisation internally and externally.
* You will demonstrate your commercial acumen and influencing skills while maintaining positive rapport.
