My client is an established 3 partner-chartered accountancy firm based in Ashbourne, Co Meath. With an impressive database of clients, they have been providing quality-chartered accountancy services for over 30 years, with a broad range of clients both in terms of audit, non-audit, sole trader etc. and in terms of industry/sector type.
Due to rapid growth, they are looking to add to their team a qualified Accountant who wants to kickstart their career with a progressive and innovative firm.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the management of a portfolio of clients.
2. Assist with the onboarding accounting process for new clients.
3. Preparation of financial statements for companies and individuals, to completion.
4. Preparation and completion of audit financial statements.
5. Advisory work including due diligence, valuations, business plans etc.
6. Preparation of financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and companies.
7. Investigate all issues on assignments to arrive at a solution or proposal.
8. Prepare technical briefs and checklists for staff and clients.
9. Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts for clients.
10. Work with colleagues, sharing workloads through accounting deadlines.
11. Recommend any improvements in procedures etc. to improve efficiency of completing tasks.
12. Mentoring and developing junior members of staff.
13. Preparation of VAT, RCT & PAYE/PRSI returns.
14. Preparation of bank, debtors and creditors reconciliation.
15. Researching and resolving technical queries from clients.
16. Reviewing financial statements.
17. Preparation and submission of CT1 and IXBRLs.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. 1+ years’ Qualified Accountant with practice experience.
2. Compliance with professional body's CPD requirements.
3. The ability to work to targets and deadlines.
4. Ability to work on your own initiative.
5. Strong client interfacing skills.
6. Proven ability to manage a portfolio of clients.
7. Strong organisation skills.
8. Excellent attention to detail and comfortable working on own initiative with the ability to plan and control workload.
9. Ability to work under time pressure and to prioritise tasks effectively.
10. Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
11. Excel (advanced level preferred).
12. Experience with database accounting and management reporting systems.
13. Proficient in numerous accounting software packages; Sage, Thesaurus, CCH, etc.
