Vickerstock are working exclusively with one of Ireland's biggest and best-known Manufacturing companies to assist them with the recruitment of a Continuous Improvement Engineer. Our client designs, manufactures, and distributes their products into the construction sector across Ireland.
As the CI Engineer, you will be responsible for the Continuous Improvement across the operations and projects function.
Your key responsibilities as a Continuous Improvement Engineer:
* Provide technical support to production in the implementation and set-up of new machinery/technologies.
* Demonstrate strong knowledge in process improvement techniques such as Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen.
* Complete understanding of product quality critical characteristics and standards.
* Introduce and continually develop Lean Manufacturing principles/continuous improvement techniques across fabrication and assembly areas.
* Provide technical support to production in the maintenance and improvement of quality and production efficiency.
* Carry out all engineering duties to ensure the successful implementation of new products into production, including all technical outputs, drawings, work instructions, BOMs & costings, as well as production jigs and fixtures.
* Provide technical support to purchasing in the sourcing and development of sub-contract manufacturers.
* Support the design team during R&D phases of new product realization.
* Carry out product testing prior to market launch to ensure all safety and quality requirements are met.
As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, ideally you will have:
* A Degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering.
* At least 2 years' experience working within a lean/process improvement environment.
* Thorough understanding and demonstrable experience of Lean Manufacturing techniques and the introduction of these techniques.
* A thorough understanding and demonstrable experience of manufacturing processes, ideally within glass & carbon materials.
