Festina Lente is looking to recruit anAssistant Accountant to join an experienced finance team where teamwork and collaboration are key. This role will support the Financial Controller in providing financial and commercial analysis to key stakeholders in order to meet the business key objectives and Strategic Plan as the business prepares to relocate to its new purpose built facility at Belfield House, Kilpedder Co. Wicklow.
Job Title: Assistant Accountant
Contract Type: Full-time Permanent, 39hr week (Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 4.30pm)
Position Location: The primary base for the position will be in our HQ at Old Connaught Avenue, Bray, Co Wicklow (relocating to Kilpedder, Co. Wicklow in 2 to 4 years).
Reporting to: Financial Controller
Responsible to: Chief Executive Officer
Primary Purpose of this Role:
* Support the Financial Controller and wider Finance team with the month end process including preparation of Management Accounts
* Processing all financial transactions relating to our on-site shop
* Assist with the analysis of monthly P&L activity including splitting of costs across branches
* Review and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts including prepayments, accruals and control accounts
* Management of fixed asset register
* Assist with the development of Internal Controls & process improvement
* Assist with internal and external audit engagements
* To contribute to the overall strategic planning of Festina Lente
Impact of this Role:
The Assistant Accountant will be instrumental in Festina Lente with regards to;
* Financial implementation of the Festina Lente Strategic Plan.
Skills and Qualification
Education:
* ATI qualified essential or part Qualified ACCA (or equivalent) and actively pursuing qualification,
Experience:
* Proven experience in a similar accounting role,
* Working knowledge of accounts package – preferably SAGE,
* Proven competency in IT – minimum ECDL or equivalent,
* Strong excel & analysis skills,
* Strong mathematical skills and dynamic problem solving skills.
Skills:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
* Proven ability to work on own initiative within a flexible, co-operative team structure
* An ability to maintain calm and composed in a busy and demanding environment,
* Willingness to learn and an openness to alternative approaches,
* Self-motivated and deadline driven with excellent attention to detail,
* Solution focused.
