Electronic Assembly Operator
MACOM is seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic electronic assembly operator, with soldering experience, to join and contribute to our growing prototype line. The position will report into the design development team and will be responsible for carrying out assembly contributing to the delivery of new innovative RF products.
Essential Functions
* Prepare components for manual assembly.
* Complete manual assembly of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) with Integrated Circuits (ICs) and surface mount components (SMTs).
* Inspect and rework PCBs, which includes re-soldering or replacing components.
* Run various packaging assembly equipment, including but not limited to soldering equipment, screen printing, and reflow ovens.
* Perform optical inspections of products to ensure quality requirements are met.
* Follow formal assembly procedures, process instructions and assembly drawings.
* Ensure work areas stay clean and organized.
* Provide feedback to engineering teams on equipment, product, or process issues/improvements.
* Comply to all necessary requirements relating to anti-static precaution, safety, and housekeeping.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* 3-5 years of relevant experience and knowledge of assembly functions.
* Must be able to follow work instructions as well as understand basics of assembly drawings.
* Experience using microscopes to inspect products and ensure highest standard of quality.
* Excellent hands-on PCB assembly skills and demonstrated ability to carry out defined tasks independently with minimum supervision.
* IC assembly such as die attach and wire-bonding would be preferable.
* Computer skills with experience using MS Office programs as well as manufacturing execution systems for lot tracking.
* Ability to work as part of a larger team.
* Fluent in written English.
* Motivated and willing to work hard to help the department and company reach objectives on time. May require a flexible schedule to provide coverage during off hours.
