About the Role
The Public Affairs Executive will play a pivotal role in managing government relations, public affairs, and regulatory matters on behalf of Horse Sport Ireland, the National Equestrian Federation.
This position requires a proactive and strategic individual capable of developing policy submissions, executing compelling campaigns, and liaising effectively with elected representatives and government departments.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with government departments, agencies, and elected representatives at local, national, and EU levels.
* Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting the equestrian sector and provide timely updates to Horse Sport Ireland.
* Act as the Organisation's representative at policy meetings, public consultations, and relevant industry forums.
* Develop comprehensive submissions, position papers, and responses to consultations on behalf of the Federation, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with organisational priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Government and Stakeholder Relations - Develop and maintain strong relationships with government departments, agencies, and elected representatives at local, national, and EU levels.
* Policy Development and Advocacy - Prepare high-quality submissions, responses, and position papers to government departments and regulatory bodies on issues relevant to the equestrian community.
* Communication and Liaison - Act as the primary point of contact for all public affairs-related enquiries, internally and externally.
* Regulatory Affairs - Monitor changes in legislation, regulatory frameworks, and government policies relevant to the equestrian sector.
Requirements:
* Essential Minimum 5 years experience in public affairs, government relations, or a similar advocacy role, ideally within a political/policy organisation, advocacy organisation, sports organisation, trade body, or regulatory environment.
* Excellent understanding of the parliamentary system/obligations as a funded body.
* Demonstrated experience in drafting policy submissions, reports, and position papers.
