Porter(s) Panel Permanent/Fixed Term Contracts Full Time Hours (Under the Governance of Mercy University Hospital Cork CLG.)
The role of the Hospital Porter is to support the delivery of patient care under the supervision and direction of the Head Porter.
The Porter through the course of his/her duties will liaise with patients and varied staff in all areas of the Hospital.
The Porter is assigned to clinical and non-clinical areas.
Responsibilities:
Use two way radios responsibly as per security policy Cleaning and disinfecting trolleys and patient handling equipment Transport and escort patients as directed Assisting in positioning patients for mealtimes Mobilising/Transferring patients as directed Assisting and supervising dependant patients Assist with last offices Dealing with spillages as per the Health & Safety policy Switchboard and Reception Duties Dealing with patients entering or exiting the hospital Members of Fire Emergency Response Team Eligibility Criteria - Candidates: FETAC/QQI Health Skills Level 5 desirable Must be willing to undertake shift work and operate to a flexible roster Excellent communication skills Ability to work as part of a team is essential Experience as a hospital porter while desirable, is not essential Closing Date is 1pm on Friday, 7 March 2025.
