Musgrave is one of Europe’s most successful family-owned businesses with a 140-year heritage in food and brand innovation, supporting communities across the island of Ireland and Spain. Every day we feed one in three people in Ireland through 11 market-leading food and beverage brands that include Supervalu, Centra, Frank and Honest, and Musgrave Marketplace.
We’re proud to be the only 100% Irish owned national foodservice wholesaler. The Musgrave family set out values to guide their business and six generations later these values are still at the core of who we are.
Our people are the heart of our business. As our greatest asset, they make Musgrave a great place to work and in return we aim to be the very best place to work, grow, and thrive. We support thousands of retail and foodservice family businesses who live and work in the heart of the communities they serve. We are committed to becoming the most trusted and sustainable business in Ireland and we are making changes across the company to ensure that happens. We want to make a positive impact on the world, and we will support our suppliers and customers to make a difference too.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Workforce Management Initiative Lead to join our Winning Store Operating Model (WSOM) Program.
As Workforce Management Initiative Lead, you will work closely with stakeholders to deliver the most efficient in-store operating model which enables Musgrave and our Independent Retailers to effectively and efficiently manage the level of effort required in how stores roster, communicate, and plan tasks right across the store.
You will manage the future concept scoping, design, pilot, and wider rollout of a simple, digitalized, and cost-effective solution that will deliver success for Musgrave and our Retail Partners in this area. It will focus on moving from current rostering tools to digitized and end-to-end interfacing for rostering while ensuring simple receiver-focused communication methods are in place. It will require evaluating available software solutions in this space.
You will have a desire to drive change and efficiency that will deliver bottom line profitability enhancements for Retailers. You will be excited by an opportunity to develop a new bespoke solution and be comfortable in building relationships and stakeholder management.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
1. Support the overall planning, design, pilot, and implementation of the future Workforce Management suite for Musgrave and our Retailers, which is a key area of our Winning Store Operating Model Programme.
2. Report progress to the Sponsor and other key stakeholders in a clear form through meetings.
3. Be a key point of contact and link to all the Workforce Management Initiative stakeholders.
4. Support interaction across our Company Owned stores, Independent Retailers, and external solution providers.
5. Work closely with the Sponsor as well as cross-functionally with our Sales Operations team, IT teams, and other stakeholders on implementing and embedding the efficient new processes and technology.
6. Measure and review impact on outcomes, benefits, and efficiency.
The successful candidates will possess the following:
1. Previous experience with or knowledge of Time and Attendance, Workforce Management, or Rostering Tools.
2. 3-5 years direct or indirect Project Management experience.
3. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
4. Strong planning and organization skills.
5. Strategic thinking skills.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Structured and independent way of working, including strong issue identification and hypotheses generation skills to mitigate implementation risks.
8. Ambition and passion to achieve lowest cost and optimize efficiency.
9. Knowledge of the Irish retail industry is a distinct advantage.
10. Previous experience in HR Operations or HR Administration is a distinct advantage.
This is a 12-month Full Time Contract covering maternity leave.
The location for this role is flexible across Ireland. Musgrave operates a Work Smart hybrid working model where you can alternate your time between connecting and collaborating in the office and working remotely. Occasional business travel to other locations will also be required.
