Building a sustainable tomorrow
We are looking for a Design Manager to join our team for a building project in Co. Carlow.
Your mission
* Manage the design from exemplar drawings through to completion of the project.
* Manage multiple design team disciplines and inputs from key stakeholders, typically engaging with external Client team, design consultants, internal construction and estimation teams, specialist sub-contractors.
* Deliver all design to ensure procurement and construction on site is not adversely affected.
* Understand and resolve design issues in a timely manner.
* Prepare and review all technical aspects of the design, ensuring all works are included in the final design to the customer.
* Risk tracking and management throughout the design process.
* Contributing to any written proposal the client or their technical teams may need to facilitate their understanding of a particular design philosophy.
* Manage the design budget and monitor and track/report on overall performance.
* Ensure timescales are achieved at each step of the design process, including all internal governance, while taking the initiative in setting realistic deadlines to meet with programme requirements.
* Ensure on-time submission of all Reviewable design data and or technical submittals for the project.
* Co-ordinate and plan all periodic client presentations required by the client as project progresses.
* Drive continuous improvement, through post-design reviews, both internally and with customers.
* Stay focused and keep others focused.
Who are we looking for?
* Ideally has a background in construction / project management / design management through to project delivery.
* A confident decision maker.
* Not to lose oneself in design details but understand and manage efficient design solutions.
* Proven team leadership skills in office-based and virtual work environments.
* Excellent communication skills and comfortable working with multiple design team disciplines.
* Will be fully conversant with the competitive marketplace.
* Sound commercial understanding with risk management skills.
* Ability to manage complex technical multi-workstream solutions.
* Solid understanding of Target Value Design and Constructability solutions.
