Cental is looking to recruit a QEHS Manager. The position will be based in Carlow Town and working closely with the Senior Team.
Job Overview:
As the QEHS Manager at Cental Engineering, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety processes and standards within the organisation comply with ISO 9001, EN 1090, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications. You will drive the development, maintenance, and improvement of the integrated Quality and EHS Management Systems across the organisation, ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction. You will also lead initiatives to enhance safety culture, minimise environmental impacts, and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards.
Individuals with experience in the construction, data center, and modular build industries, where rigorous quality, safety, and environmental standards are necessary, are particularly well-suited for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management:
* Develop, implement, and maintain ISO 9001 and EN 1090-compliant Quality Management Systems.
* Lead internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory standards and customer specifications.
* Oversee project documentation, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards, including ACC and AutoCAD systems aligned with customer and construction industry requirements.
* Act as the primary liaison with customers regarding quality matters, documentation, and compliance reports.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives by applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Management:
* Develop and maintain comprehensive EHS policies and procedures aligned with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OSHA, and other relevant standards.
* Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and safety reviews across the business to ensure adherence to regulations.
* Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
* Champion environmental sustainability initiatives, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, and carbon-neutrality efforts.
* Promote a proactive safety culture by embedding EHS into daily operations, and ensuring the proper use of PPE and safety protocols in all factory and modular construction projects.
Customer Liaison and Documentation:
* Act as the front-facing leader for customers, managing their quality and documentation needs throughout the project lifecycle.
* Prepare and deliver detailed compliance documentation, inspection reports, and certifications required by customers and regulatory bodies.
* Collaborate with customers during project initiation to ensure that quality and EHS expectations are met.
Leadership & Training:
* Lead a team of quality and EHS professionals, ensuring they are equipped to support production, customer needs, and compliance.
* Provide training and mentorship to employees across the organisation on quality and EHS systems, standards, and best practices.
* Promote a culture of quality, safety, and environmental awareness across all levels of the organisation.
Risk Management and Problem Solving:
* Lead hazard identification and mitigation strategies across the business, with a focus on modular build and high-voltage environments.
* Engage in continuous risk assessment processes to identify potential quality, safety, or environmental risks.
* Use data-driven methodologies (e.g., root cause analysis, FMEA, 8D) to resolve issues efficiently and prevent reoccurrence.
Key Requirements:
Education & Certifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Quality Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
* Lead Auditor certification in ISO 9001 and experience managing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems.
* EN 1090 certification or extensive experience managing EN 1090 compliance in manufacturing.
* Six Sigma or Lean certification is a plus.
* NEBOSH, CSP, CIH, or similar EHS certifications.
Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality and EHS management within a modular build, high-voltage engineering, or data center environment.
* Proven track record of managing ISO 9001, EN 1090, and relevant EHS certifications.
* Hands-on experience conducting audits, leading compliance initiatives, and managing documentation.
* Experience working directly with customers in the construction or data center industries.
Skills & Competencies:
* In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, EN 1090, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
* Strong understanding of Lean and Continuous Improvement principles as applied to quality, safety, and environmental management.
* Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to interface with both internal teams and external customers.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and ACC systems, quality management, and EHS software.
