DescriptionThe Security Duty Manager is responsible and accountable on shift, with focus on the end to end delivery of the security operation and management of staff across the Airport Campus (T1, T2, VCP) on the day ensuring that the passenger and staff security screening operations are conducted in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements. This responsibility and accountability will be measured against performance under the headings of Compliance, Operational Efficiency, Passenger/Customer, and People outcomes This is a 24/7 shift-based position. This position will report into the Head of Terminals with a dotted line to the VCP Manager.ResponsibilitiesPeople Ensure each Team Supervisor has a clear understanding of their objectives; the requirements and expected deliverables for their role, on each shift. Manage performance, behaviour, timekeeping and/or attendance issues of supervisors and using Company policies and procedures, through regular discussions, return to work interviews and feedback. Pro-actively manage performance and behaviour for Team Supervisors through regular discussions. Coach and support staff development and provide guidance as required. Ensure all staff on shift hold the relevant certification and training required to complete their duties in line with SOPs, statutory and regulatory requirements. Proactively review and manage any issues to ensure all required certification and training is completed and compliant as required. Drive a culture of performance. Improve engagement and support across the Airport Campus measured against the staff survey scores and feedback Manage all employee relations issues on shift and liaise closely with HR to ensure that company policies are adhered to at all times. Ensure all staff are effectively communicated to and are up to date on all Security & other relevant information. Support and engage with the Communications Team to deliver a consistent message. Provide and the deliver the highest standards of staff welfare on a shift by shift basis across the Airport Campus. Lead and motivate through active staff engagement across the Airport Campus. Identify talent across the Airport Campus and support effective succession planning and career development opportunitiesQualificationsCompliance Manage all Terminal Security Screening and VCP operations to ensure quality and efficiency of processes at all security access areas in compliance with SOP, statutory and regulatory requirements. Embed and support a PDCA (Plan Do Check Act) cycle enabling the security organisation to ensure its processes are adequately resourced and managed and that opportunities for improvement are identified, and actions are taken to implement same. Manage and ensure corrective action is taken in relation to non-conformances. Drive and foster improvements, through continuous monitoring, to ensure health, safety and security risks are minimised at all security access areas in accordance with statutory & regulatory requirements. Represent Security Operations in the event of any incidents and work closely with all key stakeholders to ensure effective resolution and corrective action measures are put in place, as appropriate. Proactively ensure the day to day operation and the staff of the Security Monitoring Centre are operating effectively to improve operational performance, staff welfare and the adherence to processes. Operations / Efficiency Execute and oversee the “on the day” plan for each shift in the Airport Campus and liaise closely with the key stakeholders (e.g. Team Supervisor, Monitoring Centre, Resource Optimisation) to address any revisions to the plan to ensure staff utilisation and optimisation on each shift. Oversee lane throughput and operational performance activities through continuous on the floor monitoring and supervision on each shift. Lead and promote the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) cycle to ensure operational resource plans meet business demand for each shift Manage security incidents and the coordination of the appropriate response, decision and action, in accordance with statutory & regulatory requirements On a shift basis manage and report issues as appropriate (e.g. emergency response, equipment failure, facility issues) Ensure all key performance indicators are communicated, managed and achieved for each shift Complete all shift-related reporting by the end of each shift. Manage and resolve all issues on a shift basis. In the event that any issues remain unresolved at the end of a shift, report these through the appropriate channels to ensure appropriate measures and actions are taken to resolve these issues.
