Diabetes Care Kilkenny:
Our new manufacturing facility in Kilkenny will be a centre for world-class engineering, quality, medical device manufacturing, and other science-based professionals. It will produce life-changing technologies, including the FreeStyle Libre 3 system, which provides real-time glucose readings directly to smartphones.
Your Role:
As a Lead Operator in Abbott, Kilkenny, you will ensure that production targets and schedules are achieved for your line. You will assist the Operations team lead in achieving process goals and provide guidance and information to operators and support groups.
Main Responsibilities:
* Coordinate production area workflow to meet Master Schedule requirements.
* Assign work tasks within the production department, providing training and technical support as needed.
* Work with internal resources to resolve problems and represent production on projects when required.
* Represent production as Process Line Subject Matter Expert (SME) and train other employees when necessary.
* Be responsible for the startup and shutdown of your line or area.
* Coordinate break schedules and assist with machine operation during breaks.
* Assemble, repair, inspect, and/or test products following written instructions.
* Set up and operate manufacturing machines or equipment following written instructions.
* Clean tools and equipment per documented procedures.
* Record information on approved documents.
* Ensure compliance with corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
* Solve complex problems requiring advanced interpretation of generally defined procedures and practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Minimum education - Leaving Certificate.
* Previous experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in a Senior Operator role.
* Experience working in a highly automated, high volume manufacturing environment is preferred.
* Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.
