Title and Summary Lead Information Security Engineer Overview:
Mastercard is seeking a professional to join our Security Engineering team in Dublin.
Mastercard is developing the next generation of applications and services to enable consumers and businesses to securely, efficiently, and intelligently conduct payment transactions.
Whether through traditional retail, mobile, or e-commerce, Mastercard innovation is leading the digital convergence of traditional and emerging payments technologies across a wide variety of new devices and services.
Responsibilities: Demonstrate a high level of expertise in information security and secure development disciplines.
Provide detailed guidance on securely implementing systems in public cloud environments.
Advise development teams on secure design of applications and services following industry best practices.
Perform security analysis of mobile applications, web applications, and web services; understand the threats, attacks, and risks to payment applications.
Analyze application architecture to reduce security risk to an acceptable level while providing beneficial functionality for the end user.
Provide technical design and architecture advice to internal teams on securely developing and building applications and supporting systems.
Define secure mechanisms for critical business functions in cloud environments.
Work closely with developers to evaluate business requests and proposed designs to determine feasibility; recommend optimal solutions to meet security and regulatory requirements.
Leverage security experience within mobile and digital commerce to maintain effective working relationships with various internal stakeholders.
Define security requirements and guidelines to ensure repeatable processes are followed by worldwide teams.
Assist in strategy, standards, and architecture for security aspects of the SDLC including application, mobile, web service, DevOps, cloud, and CICD efforts.
Participate in and drive risk assessment processes in line with risk policies.
Participate as Subject Matter Expert in various risk committees and forums.
Participate in root cause assessment processes on security incidents.
Act as a control owner for key security controls, testing effectiveness and remediating gaps.
All About You: Strong understanding of information security, risk, and data privacy.
Broad awareness of security engineering concepts and practices across all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Experience providing security architecture advice for web-based network environments and secure communication.
Knowledge and technical security experience in cryptography including encryption, hashing, key management, digital certificates, TLS.
Knowledge and experience with virtualization platforms such as AWS EC2 and Azure, including securing workloads on Kubernetes.
Experience with continuous delivery/continuous integration processes and procedures.
Demonstrate technical competency in security engineering based on hands-on experience or relevant qualifications.
Ability to articulate and communicate effectively to diverse audiences.
Working knowledge of internationally recognized security standards and frameworks such as ISO2700x, NIST, etc.
Experience with PCI Standards such as DSS and P2PE.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
