Overview
The Strategic Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and driving new business opportunities through four main functions: ensuring effective relationship management of existing clients, seeking and onboarding new clients, facilitating/attending networking events, and coordinating communications around key projects. The Strategic Business Development Manager actively targets end-users, project managers, quantity surveyors, and other professional consultants to generate new business opportunities in their territory. The SBDM educates their target audience on the products and services that Humanscale offers.
Responsibilities
* Educating, marketing, and selling the value of ergonomic workplace solutions to end-users, partners, project managers, quantity surveyors, and other professional consultants.
* Maintaining appropriate networking activity levels; minimum 10 high-level client appointments per week.
* Developing a business plan with management for weekly, monthly, and quarterly strategic objectives.
* Facilitating networking activities, events, and introductory meetings for prospective clients.
* Identifying and presenting relevant differentiators, added value components, and unique opportunities for successful project positioning of Humanscale.
* Seeking out, comprehending, and effectively communicating key client motivating factors that lead them to choose Humanscale over competitors.
* Sitting on industry boards, panels, and discussion groups to increase brand awareness.
* Utilizing resources to position Humanscale effectively.
* Representing Humanscale at professional networking events such as CoreNet, BCO, and Workplace Trends.
* Completing networking activity and new business reports, and maintaining the customer contact database.
* Organizing and executing high-level networking events to raise the profile and awareness of Humanscale.
* Coordinating activity around all key projects and ensuring communication and collaboration among the sales team.
* Facilitating and leading strategic regular planned new business meetings among the sales team.
* Identifying and developing new and existing high-level relationships within the target audience.
* Having a strong understanding of all Humanscale’s products and consulting services.
Qualifications
* 5+ years of business sales experience, successfully selling to large corporate clients.
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent sales experience preferred.
* Successful track record of planning and execution.
* Working knowledge of MS OFFICE and associated applications is required.
Additional Qualifications
* Knowledge and/or experience in the office furniture or related industry is a plus.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Skillful negotiation and presentation abilities.
* Aggressive follow-up and closing skills.
