About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Electrical Engineer to support Hitachi Energy Ireland Power Grids Grid Integration Business.
This role reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for electrical design works that comply with Hitachi Energy and customer standards, procedures, and policies.
Responsibilities
* Technical Contribution: Acts as a technical lead, approves design deliverables, reviews project documents for conformity and quality assurance, anticipates and solves unprecedented problems, and serves as a specialist in advanced concepts and methods.
* Sales Support: Assists in preparing proposals/presentations of engineering projects/programs, including bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.
* Contract Management: Supports Contract Managers in issuing claims, provides quality solutions, delivers within budget and contract, ensures adherence to safety standards, and mitigates potential risks.
* Planning and Control: Creates work plans and cost estimates, reviews and approves scope, budget, and schedule for assignments, ensures quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost, and improves effectiveness of work plan.
* Risk and Opportunity Management: Creates and executes strategies for risk and opportunity management, identifies and manages contract risks, takes corrective actions, reports outstanding issues to management, and recommends resolution.
* CUSTOMER: Works with the customer to shape and deliver solutions, seeks customer feedback, drives improvements, attends project meetings, and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments.
* Supply Chain Management: Collaborates with the Supply Chain function to ensure technical requirements for equipment or services are communicated and agreed upon with potential suppliers.
* Technical Leadership and Knowledge Sharing: Represents function in standardization committees, communicates and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments, acts as a technical specialist/adviser to senior management, collaborates, and networks within Hitachi Energy and externally.
* Processes and Tools: Reviews, develops, and documents quality standards, processes, tools, and techniques, ensures engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements, contributes towards continuous improvements of processes and tools for engineering efficiency.
