About the Role
The Senior R&D Engineer will play a crucial role in managing and delivering R&D activities associated with the lifecycle management of our products for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke, which presents significant technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product/Process optimization projects – working closely with Supply Chain and Quality teams.
2. Developing an in-depth understanding of current products from a technical perspective: design, materials, performance, manufacturing process. Supporting second supplier and/or technical transfer projects.
3. Managing project sub-parts as part of a larger project team.
4. Providing direction to other team members, including mentoring and oversight of less experienced engineers or technicians.
5. Supporting regulatory submissions and leading additional Design Verification/Validation studies as required by regional authorities.
6. Leading product Shelf-Life studies through Design Verification testing.
7. Investigating product complaints and analyzing returned devices.
8. Supporting the CAPA and Non-Conformance process.
9. Evaluating and scoping process changes, material changes, vendor changes.
10. Supporting labelling changes and implementation.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in all stages of medical device design and development (including design with SolidWorks, prototyping, and testing) is required.
- Mechanical or biomedical engineering degree or equivalent.
- Specific experience on Medical Devices, cardiovascular or neurovascular implants or instruments, including catheters, stents, delivery systems.
- Strong design and technical ability based on a broad and deep knowledge of fundamental engineering principles.
