A client in Cork is looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their team on a 12-month hourly rate contract. This role focuses on equipment qualification, process improvements, and maintenance optimization, working closely with cross-functional teams to resolve equipment-related challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical projects from concept to completion, including design, construction, commissioning, and operational phases.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope and ensure objectives are met.
- Support the introduction of new products and processes, providing troubleshooting and hands-on production floor support.
- Develop and refine maintenance strategies, oversee spare parts inventory, and manage change control processes.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and participate in cross-functional investigations.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including specifications, protocols, and SOPs.
- Coordinate with maintenance, project engineering teams, and external suppliers for equipment upgrades and modifications.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company quality standards.
- Promote a safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical) or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 5+ years of engineering experience, preferably within the biotechnology or aseptic pharmaceutical sectors.
- Proven expertise in project management within high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Experience with technology transfer, change control, and GDP-compliant processes is a plus.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and document management systems.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions and work efficiently in fast-paced settings.
