Job Title: Data Governance Foundation Sr Lead Analyst
This role is responsible for leading activities that contribute to the definition of the Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, and/or Data Risk and Control Framework and Data Risk Taxonomy. The Sr Lead Analyst plays a critical role in leading activities to support implementation of the Data Governance Policy/Data Risk and Control framework.
The job requires excellent communication skills needed to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide and influence others, in particular, colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountability for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business.
Responsibilities:
1. Supporting the CEP Data Governance Lead, as directed, to drive CEP data governance adoption priorities.
2. Liaising with partners to lead in establishing, managing and implementing data governance / policy adoption plans, compliance metrics, communications and training.
3. Leading business analysis through collection, analysis, review, documentation and communication of business needs and requirements, to understand requirements and aligning these to Data Governance and/or Data Risk and Controls standards to drive appropriate solutions.
4. Contributing to the establishment of Data Governance and/or Data Risk and Controls standards in alignment with Enterprise Chief Data Office/Banking & International Data Team, and ensuring proper documentation of processes.
5. Supporting key Data Transformation projects across the organization as data governance subject matter expert.
6. Leading activities to ensure roles and responsibilities related to data are understood and implemented across businesses and functions.
7. Collaborating with colleagues to ensure timely execution of milestones, providing reporting of potential risks to delivery, and incorporating milestone reporting and changes.
8. Capturing requirements, developing delivery plans and managing the entire lifecycle of metrics and report production.
9. Appropriately assessing risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding CGME, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations (as related to data governance), applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
1. Experience in Banking or Finance industry preferred in a Data Governance/ Data Management/ Process Engineering/change management or related area.
2. Significant banking or financial services experience (10+ years) and front to back product knowledge, ideally from a risk and/or finance business process perspective.
3. Communicates effectively, develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; able to drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levels.
4. A proven problem solver who is able to collaborate effectively by building partnerships and working well with others to meet shared objectives.
5. Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills across a variety of stakeholders at different levels.
