As a Senior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of mechanical and electrical projects. Your responsibilities will include preparing cost budgets, administering contracts, managing project risks, and preparing financial reports. Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Management: Prepare detailed cost budgets, and cash flow forecasts for M&E projects. Monitor and manage project costs throughout the construction phase, identifying potential cost overruns and implementing corrective measures as necessary
2. Contract Administration: Administer contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and terms. Prepare and review contract documents, variations, and claims, resolving disputes and discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner
3. Risk Management: Identify and assess project risks related to cost, schedule, and quality. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize exposure and ensure project success. Proactively manage changes and deviations from the original project scope to mitigate potential financial impacts
4. Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including cost reports, variance analyses, and final accounts. Present financial information to senior management and project stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement
5. Technical Ability : Proficient in Excel. Experience working with BIM models to extract quantities, P&ID and Isometric use and understanding, understanding and ability to read technical specifications
6. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders. Communicate effectively with all parties to understand their needs and expectations, address concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction
Qualifications:
7. Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
8. Chartered Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent professional qualification is preferred
9. Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a focus on mechanical and electrical projects
10. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control techniques
11. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
12. Technically proficient in Excel, P&IDs, BIM understating M&E Specs
13. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
14. Willingness to travel to project sites across the UK and Ireland as required
