As an Underwriter II a typical day might include: Reviewing underwriting details for new and existing accounts against various binding authoritiesAttending marketing and insurer meetings to gain knowledge of market conditions and competitorsCreating rate sheets in compliance with binding authorities and referring risks as needed to various markets in accordance with those authoritiesQuoting new and renewal terms to Account Executives and Account ManagersEnsuring Axis' policies and procedures are compliant with various binding authoritiesReviewing and submitting monthly bordereaux for each of the binding authoritiesInvestigating bordereaux discrepanciesParticipating in audits of various binding authoritiesEngaging in new and renewal negotiations for various binding authoritiesIssuing policy documents in compliance with various binding authorities, as required.Adhering to department targetsMonitoring the profitability of the different authoritiesAdhering to Claims administration as per the binding authoritiesParticipating in internal and external networking opportunitiesSupporting technology initiatives, optimization, and adoptionServing as peer review on referrals going to insurer partnersYou are passionate about: Providing friendly, professional serviceMaking a positive difference to those around youSharing ideas and working with a great team of proactive, innovative thinkersLearning, growing, and pushing past barriersLiving with integrityTaking ownership of your work and actionsYou're outstanding at: Building relationships – with both insurers and colleagues …YOU are a people person!Staying on top of priorities …YOU know every deadline and live by your To-Do list!Paying attention to the little things that make a big difference …YOU dot your I's, cross your T's, and check all your boxes to make sure it's done right ... the first time!Managing your time … even in a pressure cooker, with deadlines looming, YOU keep your cool, knowing you've got this!Proactively getting stuff done …YOU follow up and follow through!Working behind the scenes to ensure an exceptional customer experience …YOU know that the customer expects excellence … and so do you!Must haves: 3+ years Commercial or Personal Lines insurance experience (experience in both considered an asset)General Insurance Agent Level 2 license through the Insurance Council of British Columbia or an equivalent license in the individual's province of residence, with the ability to obtain a British Columbia licenseCAIB, CIP, CRM, or other insurance designations considered an assetPost Secondary degree considered an assetExperience using EPIC broker management system an assetYou want a leg up?
