Job Title: Bookkeeping Assistant
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bookkeeping Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills, excellent IT abilities, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review and update budget sheets and summaries for trips, tours, and retreats, including income and expenditure details.
* Provide Trip Coordinators with updates on student income received and issue purchase orders in line with approved invoices from budget holders.
* Ensure compliance with procurement policy by obtaining quotes and meeting third-party requirements for received invoices.
* Update and maintain spreadsheets to track taxi and housekeeping costs for the Finance Team.
* Assist the Finance Team in preparing and making lodgments, reconciling receipts and lodgments, and keeping the lodgment spreadsheet up to date.
* Support the Finance Team with receipting income from cash or cheques, reconciling trip/tour receipts with payment disbursements or Clever Cards, and recording any discrepancies.
* Provide support with filing and document management, scanning invoices, and processing them for electronic payment.
Requirements:
* 1-2 years' experience in a similar position.
* Accounting Technician certification is desirable.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with good attention to detail and accuracy.
* Organised and flexible with the ability to support multiple projects.
* Excellent IT skills (MS Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
