Job Description:
A global medical device company seeks Manufacturing Engineers at various levels to support their expansion phase on a permanent basis.
Manufacturing engineers provide critical support to the manufacturing organisation, facilitating efficient operations within production areas. Their primary goal is to optimise existing processes and ensure that production goals are met with an emphasis on equipment/process requirements.
The key responsibilities include process ownership of defined areas, driving strategic and cost projects, and interfacing with quality and research and development organisations to integrate new products or processes into the existing manufacturing area.
Responsibilities:
1. Initiates and completes technical activities leading to new or improved products or processes.
2. Process owner for defined area and drives ownership of Engineering activities/methodologies with an emphasis on Equipment/Systems validation lifecycle to approved procedures and standards
3. Demonstrates a wide knowledge of Manufacturing process technologies and ability to develop expertise quickly
4. Evaluates and leads the implementation of new Equipment/processes through research, analysis, evaluation, selection of software designs, operating systems with identification/verification of requirements using engineering best practices
5. Provides input on Equipment/Systems problems by analysing the situation and recommending corrective or alternative actions
6. An expert problem solver with understanding of engineering principles theories, concepts, practices and techniques
7. Continuously improves process and work methodologies by interfacing with peers/cross-functional groups and analysing activities to improve workflow and work processes
8. Incorporates business policies and procedures into task completion. Understands the business needs of the company and has knowledge of the customer needs of our business. Understands the business cycle and foresight of emerging technologies trends
9. Interacts cross functionally and with internal and external customers
Qualifications and Experience:
10. Degree in Engineering/Science essential
11. 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment required
12. FDA experience highly desirable but not essential
13. Six Sigma/problem solving methodologies
14. Experience in Validation lifecycle
The successful candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative, while possessing strong team player characteristics.
