In this dynamic and hands-on role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programs that ensure our ramp agents are equipped with the skills and knowledge required to excel in their roles. You will work closely with management to identify training needs, conduct induction and development courses, and continuously enhance our training standards. Your efforts will directly contribute to the efficiency, safety, and professionalism of our ground operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging and effective training sessions for new and existing ramp staff
2. Coordinate and administer all ramp training programs, ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures
3. Implement and oversee the new-hire shadowing process, ensuring smooth onboarding experiences
4. Identify staff development and training needs in collaboration with management, providing tailored training solutions
5. Ensure all airline-specific and ground handling training requirements are met and regularly updated
6. Organize and maintain up-to-date training records and documentation
7. Review and enhance training methods to optimize effectiveness and ensure continuous improvement
8. Supervise on-the-job training, reinforcing safety procedures and best practices
9. Conduct refresher training and performance evaluations, supporting continuous development
10. Travel to out-stations (e.g., Shannon) as required for training purposes
11. Maintain the ramp training manual in line with company and airline procedures
12. Support management in staff appraisals and performance assessments
In addition to performing your duties, you'll maintain open lines of communication with your supervisor and colleagues, ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly and collaboratively.
Requirements
1. Full Clean Driving License, Category B: Candidates must possess a valid, full driving license in Category B, allowing them to operate standard passenger vehicles without restrictions. A clean driving record is essential, indicating no serious infractions that could impact safety or operational efficiency
2. Minimum Age Requirement 18 Years: Applicants must be at least 18 years old. This ensures compliance with legal working age regulations and is crucial for roles that may require driving or other age-sensitive responsibilities
3. Pass a 5-Year Security Background Check and Garda Vetting Process: Successful candidates will be required to undergo a thorough security background check covering the past five years. This process, including Garda vetting, is essential to ensure the safety and security of our operations and to comply with industry regulations
4. Eligible to Live and Work in the E.U: Candidates must have the legal right to live and work in the European Union. This ensures compliance with employment laws and enables seamless integration into our diverse workforce
5. Proficient Written and Verbal English Language Skills: Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English is essential for effective communication within the team and with clients. This includes the ability to understand instructions, convey information clearly, and maintain professional standards in documentation
6. Ability to Work Rostered Shifts and Flexibility: The role requires you to work on a shift basis, which may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility is crucial, as operational needs can change due to flight delays or increased passenger demand. Your willingness to adapt to these changes helps maintain smooth operations and enhances the overall customer experience
7. Physical Capability: Candidates must possess the physical ability to perform tasks that require significant twisting, turning, and bending, particularly in confined spaces. This includes the dexterity to navigate around equipment and baggage in busy environments, as well as the strength and stamina to lift and handle items as needed
8. Excellent Punctuality and Attendance: Reliability is key in this role, as punctuality directly impacts the overall efficiency of airport operations and the experience of our passengers. Your consistent attendance and commitment to being on time contribute to the team's success and ensure that all scheduled services run smoothly
9. Adherence to SHP Grooming & Uniform Standards: Candidates must be committed to maintaining a professional appearance in line with SHP's grooming and uniform standards. Desirable Criteria:
1. Operational Experience: Previous experience in an operational environment will be beneficial for adapting to the demands of the role
2. Manual Handling Certificate: A valid certificate in manual handling is a plus, demonstrating knowledge of safe lifting techniques

The role of Ramp Agent is a full-time, temporary contract, featuring a probation period of six months to ensure a good fit for both you and our team. We offer a competitive rate of pay for this role.
While the standard hours of the contract are 37.5 hours per week, flexibility is essential as you may be required to work additional hours in response to operational needs, including aircraft delays or other disruptions. Shift lengths can vary between 4 and 10 hours, and will include early starts and late finishes, allowing for a dynamic work environment.
