We are seeking a Senior Energy Strategist to play a pivotal role in shaping the long-term energy strategy and portfolio construction. This position involves modelling energy markets, assessing emerging technologies, and influencing stakeholders to drive the successful implementation of our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop long-term market scenarios and assess their impact on our portfolio.
* Update existing models and challenge the status quo to refine or replace current strategies.
* Evaluate emerging low- and zero-carbon generation technologies and their potential integration into the wider business.
* Understand competitive drivers and their impact on our business.
* Track portfolio performance and report on progress against our sustainability goals.
* Lead projects and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop positions on technical and policy-related topics.
* Engage with external stakeholders and industry bodies to advocate for policies that align with our Net Zero strategy.
* Ensure consistency in messaging and alignment between strategies across business units.
Qualifications and Skills:
* A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the energy sector.
* Comprehensive understanding of the energy market and regulatory environment in Ireland, the UK, and the EU.
* Strong modelling and analytical capabilities, with a solid grasp of financial and commercial acumen.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence key decision-makers.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
