Mechanical Stress EngineerCompany:Boeing Commercial Aviation Services Europe LimitedBoeing Commercial Modifications EASA are looking for a multi-skilled Mechanical Stress Engineer to support the certification of aircraft modifications to demonstrate compliance with relevant regulatory and customer requirements and procedures defined in the company’s Design Organization Handbook (DOH).KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Structures Engineering Manager and working with the global engineering team contributing to certification activities to ensure compliance with design requirements.Act as both unit and lead engineer, as required, to address certification and stress issues relating to large aircraft modification programmesIdentify requirements and their associated solutions for active and upcoming projects.Compile and review structural substantiation documents for product certification and integration of:New seating installationsNew monument and furniture Installations such as Galleys, Lavatories, class dividers, first class suites and VVIP furnishing.Cabin interior changes including LOPAs, Passenger Service Unit layouts, LRU installations, etc…Primary structure changes including:Antenna InstallationsFuselage ModificationAct as Boeing representative during customer facing program milestones such as ITCM, PDR, CDR and FAI in support of active and up-coming projects.Provide on-site support to assist the customers’ during the embodiment phase of the project.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s Degree within Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical EngineeringFour (4) years relevant experienceSKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Current or recent employment within the aerospace industry specifically working with an EASA Part 21J Design Organisation, Part M, or Part 145 is preferableExperience with hand calculations, using classic stress analysis techniquesTechnical Report WritingExperience with Finite Element AnalysisAble to demonstrate a working knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements including (E)TSO, CS-25, JAR-25 and FAR 25 requirements (relevant to the stress/structures discipline) is preferableExperience of aircraft interior reconfiguration programmes and primary and secondary aircraft structures is preferableA high level of attention to detail and professional integrityAbility to work on multiple programmes with varying level of requirements efficiently and effectivelyAbility to prioritise workloads and show flexibility to changing situations / demandsABOUT YOU:A person of integrity who values attributes like trust, honesty and respect.You enjoy working in a collaborative environment, are willing to share knowledge and wisdom and not afraid to admit limitations.You are adaptable and resilient with high expectations and higher aspirationCapable of working on own initiative as well as with directionThe Boeing UK benefits package goes above and beyond, focusing on your physical, emotional, financial and social well-being.
