About the IRC Huawei Ireland Research Centre (IRC) mission is to position Huawei as a recognized technology leader and a global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) solutions.
To achieve this we are building an industry-recognized multi-discipline Research Centre of experts with focus on medium-term to long-term issues.

About the job We are looking for a Senior/Principle Research Engineer to join our AIOps team in Dublin.
This team is involved in the design and development of analytics solutions on observability, incident response, and change management for Huawei Cloud.
He/she will play a key role in building an intelligent operations and management platform, e.g.
self-optimization (resource allocation) and self-healing (anomaly detection and fault localisation).
Responsibilities Work closely with researchers, engineers, and operational teams to understand challenges in cloud observability and change management, e.g.
autonomous fault recovery and change risk remediation, and dive deep into the product and technical metrics, identify problem areas and build solutions to address them.Contribute to the business plans and technical requirements and get those approved by technical and business stakeholders in the cloud ecosystem.Apply machine learning, statistical learning, optimization and related algorithms to investigate, develop and maintain scalable and efficient solutions to tackle business challenges, such as optimizing SRE solutions to lower cost and improve efficiency.Encapsulate the analytics/optimization modules into workable research proof-of-concepts or/and production systems.Requirements PhD in a relevant field (such as Computer Science, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Math, etc.
).Previous work experience (including internship) at cloud service providers on applying analytics and optimization techniques to clouds.5-7 years of experience in the DevOps, SRE or adjacent domains.Excellent coding skills (e.g.
Python or Java).Experience in deploying open source solutions.Good mathematics and statistics background.Experience in SRE is a great plus.Experience in foundation model fine tuning and AI agent development is a great plus.
