Responsibilities
:
1. Drive technical excellence by working independently to analyze, d esign, develop, test, and debug large andplex software enhanc ements and solutions within Charles River's business and technical problem domains including modifications to core frameworks and other primary facilities critical to system operation
2. Collaborate with B usiness A nalysts and P roduct M anagers to create simple and sustainable software solutions forplex problems
3. Provide thought leadership in the design of product architecture with in and beyond the team's scope of responsibility
4. Direct problem solving for projects or major phases of projects to resolve advanced software technical issues
5. Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs, applications and projects using Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript, or other related software engineering languages as well as keeping abreast of emerging technologies impactful to CRDs business
6. Provide informed guidance and critical analysis of proposed changes during code reviews
7. Write unit and automation tests to ensure a high quality end product
8. Identify ways of improving development test methodologies c ontribute to and related test methodology frameworks
9. Conduct manual tests to ensure a high quality end product
10. Provide expert level troubleshooting on large, mission critical client implementations
11. Actively assist team leaders in the agile software development process by adhering to and advancing the CRD scrum methodology, including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
12. Plan and coordinate cross-team activities groups toplete assignments
13. Advise senior management on technical strategy
14. Provide mentor ing to junior and senior staff
Qualifications:
Education:
15. B. S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) inputer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics or other technical course of study required. MS degree strongly preferred.
Experience:
16. A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience
17. A minimum of 6 years of experience in financial services developing solutions for Portfolio Management, Trading,pliance, Post-Trade, IBOR or Wealth Management is strongly desired
18. Authoritative experience with object-oriented programming,piler or interpreter technologies, embedded systems, operating systems, relational databases (RDBMS), scripting and new/advanced programming languages
19. Demonstrated problem solving abilities involving multi-tiered, high-performance database applications
20. Demonstrated ability to design and develop simple software solutions to business and technical problems of highplex ity
21. Outstanding written and verbalmunication skills
