Relief Programmes Facilitator
This is a fixed-term contract role lasting 12 months, working variable hours per week at our Castlebar Resource Centre in Mayo. Your key responsibilities will include:
* To promote and support independent living and community integration
* To facilitate educational, developmental, recreational and occupational programmes and activities
* To develop and deliver person-centred programmes to meet the needs of service users
* To maintain records as required and ensure good communication within the team and with external agencies and families
What We're Looking For
We require someone with experience in a relevant setting who can facilitate and implement person-centred plans. You should have experience in designing, developing and providing programmes and activities to meet the needs, choices and abilities of service users. This includes providing support in independent living skills and community integration for persons with intellectual disability.
You must also have experience of lone working, supporting people in the community in line with New Directions, recording keeping and use of IT to the required standard, supporting adults with challenging behaviour, supporting adults with Autism, and maintaining a focus on health, safety, hygiene and good housekeeping guidelines in a service setting.
A specific interest in services, activities and programmes to cater for the needs of persons with an intellectual disability and/or a dual diagnosis and behaviours that challenge is essential. Full driving licence and flexible working hours are also required.
Your Responsibilities
Key duties will include:
* A commitment to living the organisational values of Teamwork, Dignity, Justice, Advocacy and Quality
* Being a key worker to service users to facilitate the Person-Centred Planning process
* Developing and delivering person-centred programmes to meet the needs of service users
* Carrying out daily duties such as health and safety checks, making telephone calls, updating records, canteen and general supervision, facilitating activities and programmes
* Working as part of a team ensuring good communication within the team and with external agencies and families
Additional Requirements
A minimum QQI Level 5 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable, as well as experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour. A full manual, clean driving license, with a minimum of 2 years' experience is required. Candidates may need to provide a police certificate for any country they've lived in before moving to Ireland.
