Construction Supervisor - Pharmaceuticals - Athlone - 12-Month Contract
Our client, a global healthcare company that specializes in diabetes care, is looking for a Construction Supervisor to join their team. Founded in 1923, the company has grown to become a world leader in the development, manufacture, and marketing of innovative diabetes medications.
Responsibilities
1. Lead a client-side construction management office to deliver a portfolio of strategic capital projects in line with project timelines and budget.
2. Provide client-side oversight and governance to all phases of the construction phase of the project, including management and oversight of the selected 3rd party construction management company/contractor across a portfolio of capital projects.
3. Work alongside and support the design team and other project key members to ensure the construction phase is planned effectively and set for success (safety, quality, schedule & cost).
4. Develop and administer quality control provisions; liaise on project cost estimating and value engineering, as appropriate.
5. Attend and chair (where necessary) progress meetings with Construction Management Company, Trades, Design Team, and other client representatives, acting as escalation point and decision-maker within your level of governance.
6. Monitor change with design and construction management partners, client team, etc., to ensure impact on site is mitigated/minimized.
Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
2. At least 15 years of proven experience in managing construction projects, preferably in the industrial area.
3. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, regulations, and best practices.
4. Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
5. Ability to lead and work effectively in a team and independently.
6. Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
7. Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and other project management software and tools.
8. Demonstrate experience in working within common data environments.
9. Demonstrable experience in using digital platforms for reviewing and recording observations (Revit, Navisworks, etc.).
