Interim Director of People Experience & Operations
An exciting senior opportunity is available for an accomplished leader to shape the future of employee services and operations across a dynamic and evolving organisation.
Reporting to executive leadership and working closely with senior stakeholders, the Director of People Experience & Operations will guide cross-functional teams through transformation, systems integration, and operational excellence. With a strong focus on service design, continuous improvement, and people-first delivery, this role will be pivotal in building a seamless experience for employees and managers across the organisation.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Operational Leadership
* Oversee and optimise the delivery of core people services and employee lifecycle activities, ensuring an exceptional experience at every touchpoint.
* Enhance operational efficiency by rethinking processes, embracing digital tools, and building scalable, self-service frameworks.
* Collaborate with internal partners to ensure all people-related policies and processes remain current, compliant, and aligned with organisational goals.
Digital Enablement
* Spearhead the evolution of HR technology, ensuring digital tools are integrated and leveraged effectively to streamline operations.
* Lead a roadmap of tech-enabled change initiatives, ensuring new capabilities are adopted to support an increasingly agile and responsive employee service model.
Strategic Delivery
* Lead the integration of multiple service teams into a single, unified structure that supports company-wide goals.
* Manage budgets, workforce planning, and external partners with a focus on value creation, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
* Identify strategic opportunities for improvement and lead priority initiatives aligned with business needs and cultural aspirations.
* Act as a senior figure within the broader people leadership group, supporting the delivery of organisational goals and modelling inclusive, collaborative leadership.
* Guide and inspire teams through periods of change, creating an environment where people thrive, adapt, and deliver with purpose.
* Take ownership of key risk and compliance areas related to people operations.
What You’ll Bring
* Extensive senior-level experience in operational leadership, people experience, or business transformation roles.
* A proven ability to lead major strategic programmes in complex, fast-paced environments.
* Strong background in digital systems and process improvement, with a focus on scalable, user-friendly solutions.
* Excellent communication skills, with the confidence and presence to influence at executive level and across a wide stakeholder network.
* A commercial mindset, capable of managing large budgets and optimising spend for impact.
* Deep understanding of risk, governance, and compliance within a people-focused remit.
* Passion for improving the employee experience through thoughtful leadership, service innovation, and inclusive culture-building.
