Proven experience in bookkeeping or financial management, ideally within a project-focused or renewable energy environment.
Proficiency in Xero or similar platforms (e.g., Pastel, QuickBooks).
Strong understanding of financial processes, including AP, AR, reconciliations, and cost analysis.
Exceptional attention to detail with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving errors.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Familiarity with South African financial regulations, tax compliance, and audit processes.
Ability to work collaboratively with project managers and cross-functional teams.
Skills:
Accurate Execution: Timely and error-free processing of AP, AR, reconciliations, and financial entries.
Proactive Problem-Solving: Patterns, discrepancies, and issues identified early and addressed efficiently.
Seamless Systems Use: Effective management of accounting software with well-organized financial records.
Actionable Insights: High-quality financial reports that support strategic and operational decisions.
Financial Operations:
Manage daily financial transactions and ensure accuracy across accounts, including:
Accounts Payable (AP): Process invoices, reconcile vendor statements, and manage payments.
Accounts Receivable (AR): Issue invoices, track client payments, and address outstanding balances.
Income Statement Preparation: Accurately record transactions and maintain alignment with company objectives.
Bank and Ledger Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy
Accounting Systems Management
Maintain accurate financial records using Xero or similar accounting software.
Continuously monitor and update systems to ensure data integrity and accessibility
Project Finance Support
Collaborate with project teams to prepare and analyze financial data for Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports.
Assist with project cost tracking and ensure alignment with financial goals.
Pattern Recognition and Financial Integrity
Identify anomalies, discrepancies, or trends in financial data and resolve issues proactively.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal standards
Financial Reporting
Produce detailed and accurate financial reports, including income statements, to support decision-making.
Contribute to budget preparation and variance analysis.
