Role Profile: We have an opportunity for a Fund Services Analyst to join the Fund Services team at Mediolanum on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. The role involves supporting the Fund Services Supervisor and Manager in an interesting mix of routine controls-oriented work, regulatory and other reporting, problem solving, and project management.
The position requires an individual who can demonstrate an understanding of Fund Accounting/Administration and has good knowledge of various fund type structures. While the role contains some routine tasks, it generally requires the individual to deal with ad-hoc issues as they arise while focusing on internal deadlines against deliveries of the outsourced service providers. This role would suit a person with a track record in achieving deliverable targets in a Fund Administration business, seeking a move to the Asset Manager side of the business.
Duties:
1. Oversight and Control: Support the Fund Services team in the day-to-day oversight of operational interactions between Management Company, Investment Managers, Administrators, Custodians, etc.; controls on NAV calculations process and ability to review and challenge the data provided by the third-party administrators.
2. Reporting: Assist in the regular preparation of Board documents by validating certain MIS data provided by the administrators and restructuring into a Board presentation. Assist in the periodic review or production of Fund Regulatory and Tax reporting on a timely basis including; Funds Financial Statements, AIFMD, IRRP, EMT, FATCA, CRS. Ability to review and coordinate the dividend distributions process, involving both calculation review of the same and issue of the relevant communications; ability to review and verify the Funds OGCs/TERs.
3. Project Management: Assist the Fund Services Supervisor and Manager during regular meetings with the Service Providers to initiate and document progress on multiple projects of different nature. Demonstrate the ability to understand and capture the different aspects involved in the specific projects. Assisting with the opening of Custody accounts in different countries and currencies, coordinating the launch of new classes and funds and onboarding of new delegate managers.
4. Management of Relationships: The candidate will become a primary point of contact between third-party service providers and the Mediolanum Teams both in Dublin and abroad. The successful candidate will assist in the quarterly review of the service providers and is expected to actively participate in regular meetings with these external parties.
Skills & Competencies:
1. Excellent PC skills especially MS Excel (to advance level), Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint. Power BI and other Data visualisation/manipulation packages an advantage.
2. Proactivity, ability to prioritize tasks and adhere to tight deadlines - The candidate must show flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
3. Excellent numeric and communication skills both verbal and written are a requirement and attention to detail in the performance of duties is a must.
4. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and focused on resolving issues quickly. The successful candidate is expected to be able to develop strong business relationships both internally and externally, have a good attitude to problem solving and strong ethical values.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Previous Experience as a Fund Accountant/Administrator or oversight in a similar Fund Services/Oversight function.
2. Good industry knowledge of mutual funds structures, financial instruments, valuations process and Central Bank regulations.
3. Appropriate 3rd Level Qualification.
