As a hygiene operative at Robert A Merrys & Co Ltd you’ll play an important role for the food company in which you’re employed.
You’ll work across all of the production areas and be responsible for ensuring hygiene on site meets strict standards at all times.
A role like this will vary and will require you to work across the factory – however the following are likely to be included:
1. Ensuring compliance with company procedures for Health & Safety and Hygiene.
2. Ensuring cleaning and personal protective equipment are functioning correctly at all times.
3. Ensure chemical guidance procedures are adhered to at all times.
4. Use cleaning materials and equipment safely (per COSHH guidelines).
5. Ensure only company issued chemicals are used – original containers must be labelled at all times.
6. Carrying out scheduled daily cleaning tasks in the bottling hall, packing hall, bathroom, changing room, office areas and canteen areas (also stores and manufacturing including the exterior when necessary).
7. Ensure office and reception areas are vacuumed and mopped each day and furniture is dust free.
8. Cleaning of processing equipment e.g. tables, stairs, fixed overhead piping to meet required standards.
9. Ensure all wall and overheads are dust and cobweb free in office, bottling hall, packing hall, bathroom, changing room, stores, offices and canteen areas.
10. Ensuring all cleaning records and paperwork are correctly completed and signed off by Quality Control on a weekly basis.
11. Ensure all bins are emptied on a daily basis, ensuring food waste is kept separate at all times.
12. Ensure staff refrigeration temperature is recorded on a daily basis.
13. Ensure canteen and appliances are kept clean, operational and hygienic at all times.
14. Ensure only designated labelled cleaning equipment is used in each area – using colour coded format.
15. Ensure changing rooms are mopped daily. Ensure sinks, mirrors and lockers are cleaned as per schedule.
16. All toiletries to be replenished, in particular hand towel for drying hands.
17. The ability to work effectively under pressure of time.
18. Undertake job-related training as needed.
19. Perform additional duties as required.
20. Reporting any incidents or environmental concerns to your immediate manager.
Requirements:
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Understanding of safe working practices and health and safety legislation.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Well-organized and able to prioritize tasks.
* Honest, reliable, and flexible.
* Understanding of cleaning schedules and associated records.
* Good work record, with previous cleaning experience desirable.
Desirable:
* Previous cleaning experience.
* Familiarity with cleaning equipment.
* Good record keeping skills.

Pay: From €14.55 per hour
Expected hours: 39 per week
