Here at Haleon, we are on the lookout for a highly skilled Maintenance and Engineering Manager (Production Equipment) to join our Oral Care (OC) site, team in Dungarvan.
As an engineering leader, you will lead a highly talented and motivated team (circa 40 members), providing strategy, prioritisation and direction while ensuring continued service support and maintaining assets throughout the site.
In this role you will…
1. Through a positive leadership style engage and motivate the OC Engineering team to become a HPO where roles and responsibilities are clear and team members are engaged and performing to the best of their abilities.
2. Provide leadership in defining and executing the OC site engineering reliability strategy. Formulation and execution of this strategy is absolutely key to the sites success to delivering medicines to our patients.
3. Define and align with the above site Engineering teams to ensure local activities are strategically aligned with corporate goals by building relationships and leveraging knowledge exchange between sites.
4. Responsible for definition of the site process equipment obsolescence and upgrades strategies ensuring consistent standards in hardware and software are applied and obsolescence risks are addressed/mitigated.
5. Define and execute the continuous investment plan to ensure the site remains current and innovative to leverage business benefit and avoid significant obsolescence in both skills and technology. Provide shop floor support for problem solving and investigation activities for all equipment issues.
6. Work in collaboration with other site teams to ensure effective and robust troubleshooting occurs and establishing root cause to prevent re-occurrence through effective CAPA implementation.
7. Actively pursue business advantage through the application of digital technologies and apps throughout the site manufacturing function.
8. Lead and initiate continuous improvement programs and projects including the development and optimization of operation and maintenance procedures for systems.
9. Tender and appoint contractors for the supply of services, plant and equipment, installation or Service work for Production operations, such that they contain appropriate technical specifications are delivered as required and represent value for money. Ensure that an out of hours engineering support system is in place and support vendors are upto speed on site systems.
10. Support teams in achieving world class OEE targets across our value streams.
11. Lead and manage the reliability, maintenance and performance improvement of the infrastructure across manufacturing working closely with engineering and operations teams to maximise site performance. Through collaboration with the OTC leads, define the delivery of the skills training program for all engineering staff in digital and automation such that the capability of the site engineering team meets the requirements of the business
12. Provide technical expertise during regulatory audits.
13. Ensure compliance with relevant Global Engineering Standards, Statutory inspection requirements, machinery safety and Guidance on suitability.
14. Ensure that GMP, quality, health & safety processes are adhered to in all aspects of the role.
15. To demonstrate the key capabilities, behaviors and values as set out in the HALEON Leadership Profile for “Leading Others”.
16. Engage with Engineering Stores to ensure the correct inventory is available but ensuring that stock levels are at a minimal without jeopardizing the business.
17. Ownership for management of the 3rd party calibration contract across both OC and OTC sites.
Basic Qualifications & Skills:
18. Engineering Degree to Level 8.
19. 15+ Years Experience of working in an FMCH or GMP compliant environment.
20. 5+ Years of leading a team.
21. Experience of leading and managing multi skilled technicians and support engineers in the manufacturing environment, to include performance management, objective setting, coaching/mentoring, development and prioritisation.
22. Experience in developing close links with key site customers (quality, operations, EHS).
23. Experience of providing and presenting data and recommendations to site leadership teams to facilitate and influence timely and effective decision making.
24. Demonstrated knowledge of engineering standards and statutory requirements for plant, machinery and workplaces applicable to a large volume consumer products factory.
