This role is pivotal in maximizing revenue, optimizing campaign delivery, and driving innovation within Virgin Media’s digital advertising ecosystem.Specific Tasks/ Duties:Operations Lead: Oversee programmatic ad operations, ensuring seamless execution and fulfillment of campaigns. Manage relationships with key tech providers, including Google, Simplestream, Source Point and NPAW Analytics.Revenue Optimisation: Strategically plan monthly delivery, ensuring maximum revenue generation despite fluctuations in inventory and demand. Work with the Sales Team to forecast inventory and sporting packages to help deliver on sales targets. Agency & Buyer Engagement: Collaborate with agency trading teams and buyers, effectively communicating the value of Virgin Media’s ecosystem.Strategic Innovation: Lead innovation projects, including the development and implementation of addressable capabilities in collaboration with Simplestream and Google, with a target launch in 2025.Product Development: Pioneer new ad formats such as pause ads for Connected TV and overlay ads for live and catch-up content.Data & Insights: Work with Virgin Media’s content team to build and enhance PPS signals using IAB categorisation, ensuring advanced targeting capabilities. This is a key project in 2025. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, external vendors, and industry stakeholders to enhance Virgin Play’s digital and programmatic offerings.Technology & Platform Management: Oversee the implementation and management of ad tech platforms, ensuring they are optimised for efficiency and revenue growth.Campaign Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics, providing strategic insights and recommendations for optimisation.Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure all programmatic advertising efforts comply with industry regulations, data privacy standards, and best practices.Client & Stakeholder Communication: Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication around programmatic initiatives.Training & Development: Mentor and develop team members, ensuring they are up to date with industry trends, platform updates, and best practices.Skills & ExpertiseProven track record in programmatic advertising, ad operations, and digital innovation.Strong understanding of programmatic platforms, ad serving technology, and analytics tools.Experience working with major tech partners, including Google, Trade Desk etcAbility to manage fluctuating inventory and optimise revenue strategies.Excellent relationship-building skills with agency trading teams, buyers, and strategic partners.Demonstrated experience in leading and executing innovation projects within the digital advertising space.Strong analytical mindset and data-driven decision-making capabilities.Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Deep knowledge of audience targeting, data management, and segmentation strategies.Experience in implementing automated ad solutions and AI-driven ad optimization techniques.The Person:5 years + trading/sales experience in the media industryProven track record in delivering targets and growing customer base In-depth knowledge of the digital marketing, client relationship management and agencies.
