Position: Health, Safety, and Environmental Advisor
Location: Little Island, Cork, Ireland

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced qualified candidate for the role of HSE Advisor to support the team on a large design and build project. The successful candidate will be supported by the Site Management Team, Quality Manager, and Coffey HSQE Team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Safety Management
o Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Health & Safety Plan and associated procedures.
o Monitor and ensure compliance with client specifications, industry standards, and legal health and safety requirements.
o Conduct regular audits, inspections, and safety walk-throughs to ensure all project activities meet the required health and safety standards.
* Risk Management
o Identify and assess potential health and safety risks across the project.
o Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure a safe working environment.
o Review and approve site-specific risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
* Training and Communication
o Deliernote site inductions and ongoing safety training programs to employees and subcontractors.
o Promote a culture of safety awareness and engagement across the project team.
o Act as a point of contact for all health, safety, and environmental queries.
* Environmental Oversight
o Ensure compliance with environmental standards, including waste management, emissions controls, and resource sustainability.
o Support the development and monitoring of the Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
* Incident Management
o Investigate incidents and near-misses, ensuring detailed reporting and analysis to prevent recurrence.
* Client and Stakeholder Collaboration
o Liaise with the client and regulatory bodies on health, safety, and environmental matters.
o Provide regular updates and reports on safety performance and compliance metrics.
About You
Skills & Qualifications:
* Third Level Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety (OHS)
* Computer literate
* Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Experience:
* Minimum 2+ years of experience in a health, safety, and environmental role within the civil engineering/construction sector
* Proven experience in managing safety on large-scale, complex construction projects involving earthworks, reinforced concrete structures, and steel frame buildings
* Experience with relevant HSQE standards and management systems
